How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign is a popular treatment because it is not a fixed brace. Instead, we use removable clear plastic aligners that sit over the teeth and apply pressure to move them into the targeted position. The aligners are made to fit your mouth precisely using iTero technology to scan your teeth and from which the measurements are taken. With this scan, we can also show you a 3D animation of how your teeth will appear after treatment has been completed before you even get started on your Invisalign journey! It can be a highly motivating undertaking and you won’t even have to come and see us too often! We will provide you with batches of aligners to change between on a weekly basis; all you will need to do is pop in for a checkup every 6 weeks. One of the top attractions of Invisalign is arguably the fact that when you wear the aligners they are barely noticeable to other people. Unless you have someone who loves staring at your teeth for long periods of time – and in which case, maybe enforce some social distancing! – they should even be invisible.
